Send Instagram Prices by DM from Comments

Dayrect helps your page answer a comment asking about a price by sending the relevant details in a private message. You provide the current price and terms; Dayrect does not import a price list or know whether your prices or stock have changed.

Explore Dayrect and review the comment-to-DM setup guide.

What happens when someone asks about a price

A configured comment keyword can trigger a private response about the offer. For example, the caption might invite people to comment a word such as [KEYWORD] to ask about [OFFER]. Replace both placeholders with a word and offer that make sense for your page.

This private response is not the same as a public reply or an AI-generated answer beneath the comment. A public acknowledgement can be a separate action. Keep it neutral unless you have confirmed the DM arrived; “Thanks for asking—check your messages” does not claim delivery.

The DM can add useful detail, but do not hide important purchase information. Put essential terms in the public post or product listing too, according to your normal practice.

Make a current price record

Before writing the message, collect the offer name, price, currency, available options, current availability, and relevant terms from the person responsible for the offer. If those details differ by size, service scope, or location, make that clear rather than sending one number as if it applied to everyone.

Do not invent a price, currency, discount, stock status, delivery date, fee, or expiry date. If you cannot verify a detail, leave a placeholder in your draft and confirm it before enabling the automation.

Choose a direct answer or a price-list link

Use a direct answer when the offer has a clear, current price. Use a link only when the page owner supplied and checked the destination. Open the page on a phone and confirm that it shows the intended offer and terms.

Neither a saved message nor a supplied link syncs automatically with a separate price list. When a price changes, update the message or destination yourself and test it again. If availability changes often, point people to a current source and say where to check.

Configure a comment-to-DM price reply

Start with the comment-to-DM guide. Dayrect supports comment automations that send a private reply, and the steps below use the labels shown in its builder.

1 Choose the post and trigger

Open Create automation, then Comment → DM. Select the post where you discuss the offer. Choose a clear keyword for the offer and use the same word in the caption and rule. Avoid broad wording that could match unrelated comments.

The builder's Words field accepts the matching text. Check the selected account and post so a question on another offer does not receive the wrong details. A price message should refer to one defined offer or clearly explain which options it covers.

2 Write the private price message

Under Message to send, use only the verified information you collected. An example with intentionally unfilled fields is:

The current price for [PRODUCT] is [PRICE] [CURRENCY]. See [OPTIONS OR SIZE DETAILS]. To check availability or order, [NEXT STEP].

Replace each bracketed instruction with current business information. If a supplied price list is more useful, link to [PRICE LIST URL] and tell the reader what they will find there. Do not include an unsupported discount or promise that a price is reserved.

The message may offer a human-help route, such as replying with the option they are considering. Avoid unsolicited follow-up wording. Review the first-message disclosure and the complete text before saving.

For more adaptable wording, see the price reply templates and the general comment LINK message examples.

3 Keep any public acknowledgement accurate

If you add Also reply publicly, use a short acknowledgement that does not claim a successful send. A public comment saying “Your price is in your messages” should only be used when delivery is known. Keep price terms visible wherever customers need them to make an informed choice.

4 Test the full path

Use Test with a sample to review the rule's behavior without sending Instagram messages. Then test the real recipient path with another account: make the matching comment, check the private message and open its destination. Check a nonmatching comment too.

A queued message is waiting for delivery; it is not the same as confirmed receipt. Check the message result and recipient-side inbox before treating the test as complete. Repeat the review after changing the price, options, terms, or URL.

Common problems to check

If no price message appears, confirm the automation is active, the selected post and account are correct, and the comment contains the configured word. If the message has stale details, update the text or supplied destination and retest it.

If a public acknowledgement appears without a DM, treat those as separate outcomes and inspect the private-message result. Check message requests on the recipient account and look for connection or delivery issues in the app. These are possible checks, not a guarantee about the cause.

If the URL opens the wrong page, replace it with a verified destination and test it on a phone. For different variants, name the real options and their respective owner-supplied prices, or point to a current price list.

Frequently asked questions

Will the price appear in the public comment?

The configured example sends the price in a private reply. A public response is separate. Keep essential buying terms clear in the post or listing too.

Will the message update when I change my prices?

No automatic synchronization is established. Update the configured copy or owner-supplied destination, then check and test it.

What if an offer has several options?

State the actual options and their current prices, or send a verified price list. Do not make one price sound universal if it depends on a choice.

Can I add a discount?

Only include a discount that the page owner has supplied and approved, with its real terms and dates.

Is this the same as an AI public reply?

No. A configured keyword flow can send specific information privately. An AI comment reply appears publicly under a comment. Read how AI replies to Instagram comments work.
